Materials and Equipment Ensure the availability and cleanliness of the following materials and equipment:
  • Gentle makeup remover (liquid or wipes)
  • Cotton pads or soft, disposable cloths
  • Clean, sanitized makeup brushes or applicators (if needed)
  • Clean, sanitized spatula or palette knife (if needed)
  • Clean, sanitized tissues
  • Clean, sanitized headband or hairclips (to keep hair away from face)
  • Trash bin or designated waste container
  • Comfortable chair for the client
  • Mirror for client reference (optional)
4. Preparing for Makeup Removal 4.1. Ensure a clean and hygienic workspace. 4.2. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. 4.3. Sanitize all makeup removal tools as per the Sanitization and Hygiene SOP. 4.4. Prepare the client's chair, ensuring their comfort. 5. Client Interaction 5.1. Greet the client warmly and introduce yourself. 5.2. Explain the makeup removal process to the client, ensuring they understand what to expect. 5.3. Ask if the client has any allergies or sensitivities to makeup removers. 5.4. Obtain client consent before proceeding with makeup removal. 6. Makeup Removal Procedure 6.1. Tie back or secure the client's hair to prevent interference with the makeup removal process. 6.2. Apply a small amount of gentle makeup remover to a clean cotton pad or disposable cloth. 6.3. Start makeup removal from the eyes and lips, as these areas often have heavier makeup.
